Gareth and Vicky and Teggs Nose

And just like that… the training walks are done.

This weekend we laced up for one final outing before the real adventure begins – a lovely loop around Tegg’s Nose with our good friends Gareth and Vicky, who’ve been absolute legends throughout our preparation.

It was the perfect send-off: rolling hills, good conversation, a solid gear test, and – of course – a very important coffee and lunch stop (because walking is 50% movement, 50% snacks).

Where We’ve Been Training

Over the last few months we’ve put in the miles to get ready for the South West Coast Path, and our boots have taken us to some cracking places – including:

  • The stunning Gritstone Trail
  • A full go at the Sandstone Trail (also with Gareth and Vicky – they deserve a medal too!)
  • Rugged sections of the Anglesey coastline
  • A clamber up Cefn yr Ystrad in the Brecon Beacons
  • A leg-stretcher on The Wrekin
  • … and plenty of local walks, hill climbs, and mini-explorations in between

Safe to say the legs have been thoroughly tested (and the feet are probably starting to dream of retirement).

One Week to Go…

Now it’s real. Our next walk will be the actual start line of the South West Coast Path, kicking off on 13th May and aiming to finish (legs willing) on 15th July.

The gear is packed. The blisters are pre-emptively patched. The snacks are stockpiled. And we’re ready.

Thanks again to everyone who’s supported us so far – and to Gareth and Vicky for joining us on so many muddy, misty, and marvellous miles.

Don’t forget, we’re walking to raise money via our JustGiving page, which you can find here:

We’ll keep sharing updates as we go – see you at the start line!
